Kitchen / Dining Update in Dunbar

Project Details

It was time for a kitchen update! While the designer intuition was to blow walls away, the Owner's instructions were clear: a new Aga Cooker needed to be accommodated and no walls were to be moved. As architects we felt a little restricted by the lack of kitchen width and knew a creative solution was needed in order to accommodate the larger appliances. The solution was to move the sink further along the counter, and to narrow the counter next to the cooker in order to give the necessary "elbow room". The resulting configuration still resulted in a good working triangle between fridge, sink and cooker, and we also had a happy client. Built-ins on either side of the existing fireplace completed the theme.
