Fort St. John Townhouse Update

Project Details

Our Vancouver client group was looking for help in adding value to their 1970's rental townhouse complex in Fort St. John. Working with a local building technologist, we developed a simple palette of remediations to satisfy the city planners as well as our clients' more practical requirements. Due to the vast project area and limited budget, it was important to keep to inexpensive materials with small concentrations of detail such as entries and at the convergence of pathways. Covered porches were designed for architectural interest and groupings of trees and functional elements (such as bike racks and benches) were introduced to the landscape. Throughout, careful consideration was given to the rigours of the weather extremes and the durability required for a rental facility.
